Experience and Changes

(This article will be useful for those who want to apply to EMIS)

Hello guys,

As a student of EMIS, I want to give you a few tips that perhaps will help you in making a decision about applying to our international school. First of all ask yourself: what do you expect from these two years? If you expect to chill, play hard and have fun all the time, it’s not going to work here. Don’t come here with the mood like you are going to a party, where you will have fun all the time. You should prepare yourself for the new challenge of your life. It is not a paradise, where you will spend two years of fun. As in every community you will have problems. These problems can be with school, relations between you and somebody else, homesickness, whatever. You should understand that there is no perfect place in the world and even here you will face difficult times. Don’t live in illusions that you will come to chill here. If you have these kinds of thoughts, then this is not a good place for you. If you want to improve your skills, try something new, work hard for your future, build your own personality, then this is the best place for you, because you have many opportunities for this. We have the best teachers, lessons, extracurricular activities, and a lot of great people. If you have a passion to work and improve yourself – you are welcome.

Apart from this, I want to tell you about the importance of time management. Maybe DP2 students will laugh when they read this. But I want to say that we have a huge amount of work, even though I am in DP1. Assignments, mandatory activities, house parent meetings, and village duties; all of these are part of your life here. In addition to this, we are young and we want to sleep, relax and play with peers. You should be a very organized person if you want to succeed here.

And my last tip in this article: be sociable. The purpose of this school is to connect people from all over the world and to teach how to understand each other. It sounds like it is easy to understand each other. Believe me, it is not easy. Everybody has different backgrounds, opinions and beliefs. Sometimes things that are obvious for you are not understandable for other people.

As a conclusion, if you have a tendency for hard work, if you are an organized person and can easily communicate with everybody – this is the perfect place for you. If you are not, but you have a passion to improve, build your own successful identity – come here, nothing is impossible.

We are waiting for you.
