On the 7th of December, a design upcycling workshop started with the contribution of 8 students, who all collaborated and made their own clothing pieces using different materials. The focus on the pieces was handmade lace which was then made into clothing representing flags of certain countries, which all aimed in delivering a certain messages carried by their pieces and their background.
With guidance and support from Lisa D, a Berlin-based fashion designer who has a huge experience and a long journey with upcycling, we managed to achieve the mission of EMIS by showing the diversity of countries in a sustainable way. On the 11th of Dec, the last day of YOCOPAS, there were 13 participants who took a part in it as designers, hair dressers, makeup artists, models, and presenters. In the end, the members all worked efficiently together to hold a fashion show, in front of an audience of more than 200 international students, educators, guests and more.
